How you doin', Costeluș? I haven't seen you in 20 years. I'm fine! I'm married, have my own place, children. Even I couldn't imagine myself like that, he laughs. With whom? Ana? All the girls used to have a crush on you. Gina, Laura, Gabi. I can't figure it out how you played them and how they all believed you. Yes, Ana was beautiful, but it's not her I married. I married Rodica. Rodica who? The one with glasses? Yes, her. Gicu laughs. So Rodica made it in the end. She said that it was you she wanted to have children with 'cause you had beautiful eyes. It can't be you got her pregnant and had no other choice, can it? Costeluș laughs. Something like that.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
