I asked you to get me a bunny for my birthday. You all said - we could not keep such a pet in an apartment, where it would go potty, where it would run, who would go to the supermarket to get carrots for it. You brought me a fish. Nevertheless, I asked for one thing for Christmas - a topper, but I got a cap. Where shall I go with a topper? Where? A cap is more useful, you said. You could wear it to school, to football and even when going for a walk. Well, and now you tell me, have you ever seen a magician getting fish out of a cap?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
