Dear John, I am leaving you. I can no longer carry alone the house, the field, the animals and you to struggle to carry on your shoulders those four bottles of Bucegi, which you are drinking them even when is minus four degrees. I don't feel like a woman anymore. You know who makes me a woman? Mioara. Yes, I discovered I am homosexual. I want to tell you that she knows where to touch me. We are going to work in Spain into greenhouses, to make us a future. Wish you good health. P.S. give this letter to Oprea too because Rita doesn't know how to write.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2021, the group has 7.000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
