I wake up with my girlfriend at the door, she tells me she's getting married. I laugh like a hysterical mare. Girl, 3 months ago you said that you want to be a rich old woman without a Doofus of a man. Later, you started the Keto diet that a no-name influencer recommends, but apparently you smell like minced meat balls and garlic. It takes you 2 hours to think about what shoes to go to work with tomorrow, but you actually work from home. You want world peace, and you scream when he shoots the polish from your nail. And when is the party? The day after tomorrow, she says. There is time, by tomorrow you'll be normal.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2021, the group has 7.150 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
