Eve felt sad when she woke up that morning, overwhelmed by the feeling that nothing worked the right way. She touched her lips which seemed dried and voiceless. Anyway, I have to go back to my work, she mumbled. She dressed up but she was still cold and she was trembling, while her heart didn't feel at ease. I have to drop the children to school, to prepare dinner. But the only thing she wished for was to close the louvers and to go to sleep. She wished to forget about the world and rest away the sadness. Mommy, mommy, look, the autumn has come, she heard it coming from life through life, and she smiled to them.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In September 2021, the group has 7.150 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
