I've been sitting here for eight hours, I don't know why, for what or what I did. Anything suspicious in your luggage. What are those. Wet wipes, sir. What do you use them for. Well, for wiping. What are those rag dolls filled with. Please don't cut open my dolls, they're used for voodoo rituals. And that broken coconut is filled with dry seaweed. Illegal weed. I didn't know, I'd have brought more. This dark powder. That's coffee. Where are the drugs. That's what I'd like to know. Go and fucking find them already 'cuz it's ten of you guys and I'm sitting here dying to see where they are.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
