The first thing I noticed was the fact that it was very nicely painted. And it was huge, with many people inside. I've always known I would end up here. A friend of mine even told me I was a drama queen. Thank you, I told her, but the masculine form is king. This is why they've crowned me, for everything I've written over the years. These wonderful people dressed all in white, treating me like a prince? KING, the masculine form is KING. Sigh, I keep telling them but they always forget.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
