Mimi is a reporter and an educated individual. Today she had gone to the theatre. At some point, a little girl got attacked by a guy pretending to be a wolf. Mimi knew the guy was no wolf, since no animal is able to speak. She had climbed on the stage, whacking the dude with her purse. After three hits precisely directed at his head, the scoundrel ran away. Completely speechless, the children started to cry. Mimi burst into tears as well and called Țuțu. She laid down, exhausted, took a plastic apple from the prop basked and took a big bite. Munching, she began contemplating. Nowadays even apples taste like plastic. She passed out.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In October 2021, the group has 7.275 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
