Come on, please, everybody in your roles, we're shooting for Jamila Cuisine. "Everybody" who, can't you see I'm the only one here? Why didn't you film me coming from Obor on the bus with the bell peppers and cucumbers? Ah, you only film interiors, in my house. Well, come into the kitchen, that's where Romanian life is. What? You were up late? When you came, the job was finished. You're salivating. Come for Christmas, It'll be on me. You guys get the plum-brandy (pălincă) and the pork, I'll get the pickles. And we'll talk. Cut.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2021, the group has 7.500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
