Mr. President, you must be calm in front of the viewers. Don't let your voice tremble when you read the press release. Don't see the botox I injected your cheekbones with. Try not to smile, we do not want to crack the foundation with a rejuvenating effect. So, you have to tell them that the floods have caught us off guard again and that the earthquake that comes next week has nothing to collapse. The buildings with the red dot in Bucharest have not existed since 2094. Good evening, I am your president, Ion Iliescu.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2021, the group has 7.500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
