I felt the warmth of the sun and the sea breeze drown my senses. That goldfish ready came through. I open my eyes - clear horizon, doused in azure waters. It worked. I let the white, silky smooth sand cover my feet. I look around - no one. I literally roll around with happiness. Finally, the solitude I longed for. Oanaaa. I can't believe this. They found me here as well? Goldfish, what did you do? I said ON AN ISLE. Oh, whatever. I understood PENINSULA. Didn't you take diction classes at that university? Cannonball.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2021, the group has 7.500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
