Would you receive a small package from us? For the grandma, God rest her soul. I would, dear, God rest her soul. But what's the matter with you around here? I saw that you have been walking around the graves. I'm walking, ma'am, what can I do? You have to leave room for a good afternoon because you never know what happens. I come here every day, nicely dressed, and tell everyone something. I don't forget anyone because, if I do, they will get mad and never invite me again. Even so, I haven't gone to anything in ages. Now I heard that they were setting up Chekhov. Maybe he will take me with him too.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In November 2021, the group has 7.500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
