In my boyhood I was dreaming to be Prince Charming. I had three damsels in distress that I wanted to save, but before accomplishing it, I had found out that there's no place anymore for Charming Princes. So, I became a dragon. The need for dragons was higher because they would die fast and had to be replaced. I kidnapped, raped, killed, under frightened and admiring looks from the damsels. I was showing off my victories because I knew this would not last for too long. Now I am an Ogre. My followers bring me the best prey in order to choose the most tender one. I still dream that I am Prince Charming. Especially when I eat one.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In December 2021, the group has 7.750 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
