He was desperate, snapping his little fingers. The Good Fairy told him before he fell asleep that he would go to Doomsday and God would know everything that he has ever done, good or evil. Today mommy and daddy told him that they love him to the moon and back, but starting today they would do so separately, and brought him to the Judge. The thought of every bad thing that he has done being said out loud there was making him go weak in the knees. The door creaks like a ferocious dog. Dănuț is dragging a rabbit by its ear and enters hesitantly. Dan, who do you love the most in this world? That was it? With a river of tears coming from his eyes, he whispers relived: The Good Fairy.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In December 2021, the group has 7.750 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
