Heavy knocks on the door, the ant gets frustrated, opens the door. The humble cricket says Forgive me, ant, I made another mistake, I'm begging you again. You, troubadour, are not telling me anything new, but wouldn't you want us to change this paradigm? The cricket takes the guitar into his arms and sings to her, I do, ant, but I just heard you fly from flower to flower, so give me some mashed vegetables. You've heard whaat noow? the ant gets angry. You're bringing me stupid gossip, you act like you know I can fly and that mashes vegetables are made from flowers. Go away to our sister, the bee, if you feel courageous.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In December 2021, the group has 7.750 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
