It's a perfect event that ensures supercontamination. It is the source. It's similar to the sun that explodes and isn't aware of the eventual destruction it might cause around it. The lack of uniqueness of the situation is in fact the paradox. Identical events, in repetition, take place all over the world, and this makes the source, though essential, an anonymous number. The name? It doesn't matter. It has exactly the same thing as all the others. Is he suffering, is he being treated, is he going to die? It's irrelevant. What matters is how many other potential sources have sprung up around him. It's pandemic.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In December 2021, the group has 7.750 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
