Dear me, little girl, aren't you cold? I think you frozen entirely in this dress. Is this a bride dress? Are you getting married now? Take this shawl and put it on your back, it makes me shiver when I look at you. Wait quietly, but until he comes, can't you cover yourself a bit, because you're freezing, mother, and you won't have children anymore. Did he tell you to go to the monastery? Ooof, these bloody men. Is his mother evil? Then leave him alone, little girl, because you won't go together too well, listen to the old lady. What's your name, beautiful? Ohmelia?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
