I thought that I were more determined. That I can help myself the way I have set out to do. But when I met him, it was chemistry at first sight, like I were struck by lightning. Electrified, I couldn't resist anymore. It was as if I were in a trance. And what I cleared up? Nothing. I am already thinking about the next one. I have decided that this year I'll take a break until things calm down, so that no one will track me down. I wipe off my knife on his chest, I shut his eyes staring in amazement and say to myself: eh maybe next year.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
