I don't know how to tell you, but since I know myself, at the beginning of the year, I have such a positive energy, I am so full of desires, of hopes, that I make a lot of promises to myself. Then, without realizing it, as time goes on, this energy begins to decrease in intensity, and my enthusiasm is in vain. You see, it's only January 3rd and I've already broken my decision not to write on Ficțiuni Reale. It looks like you're going to have to put up with me for another year.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
