In 1984 I guessed at you exam that you will have to write about Plugarii, and in college I knew what the subject would be. Over time, my intuition deciphered moments in your life, that's why I knew the truth when I asked you today and I could read your despair and your grey soul in your black eyes of anger and uncontrollable gestures and words that squeaked unequivocally. Out of this common love, I sent you pictures of your silhouettes in the bedroom window that could have been a couple, if I weren't already there, maybe nothing, but always between you.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
