Every time he met Mihaela, his mistress, George had a habit: the meeting was to take place in the motel on the outskirts of the city, in room 101. Why necessarily in that room? That's how our man wanted it, but the truth is that the view was also beautiful from the balcony. George was meeting Mihaela again. They hadn't seen each other in a week. He hurried to the motel, parked the car, and entered Room 101. He thought something was wrong, but he didn't care. He was trapped when his wife came out of the bathroom.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
