He loved to travel. Whenever he booked a suite he only had one wish, for it to be suite no.101. He didn't care whether it had a sea-view or a mountain-view, whether it was next to the elevator or just above the kitchen. It reminded him of his younger self who had met her. The love of his life. But everything had vanished like smoke, like any lost love, like any lived life. Every time he used to open that door with the same number engraved onto it, he looked forward to seeing her by the window, with the sun from upfront perfectly outlining her silhouette.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
