It was a Monday, and all of them were gathered there, right before opening, as if the succession papers were on sale. She hadn't had coffee and now she was explaining, writing, calculating, verifying, notarizing and putting stamps. She gave that girl all of the papers, told her what to write and she wouldn't list already. She glared at Lenuta's desk and saw one foot with a shoe and one foot without one coming from underneath it. She got right next to her and watched as she sniffed the inside of her shoe, almost fainting with pleasure, hiding behind the monitor.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In January 2022, the group has 7.830 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
