I've been looking for you for an hour ever since I woke up. You've been in my bed the whole night, but you've left me without saying anything. What's the reason? I'm confused. In this big house, it's not easy for me. I search for you like a fool in the bedroom, in the bathtub, in the shower cabin, even on the armchair, underneath the plush bear. But it's enough, you ingrate, I made up my mind to put an end to my suffering, enough is enough. Change you, I will, sister, with another just the same, same color and same model. You crazy sock, I'm at my wits' end, come out to the light, I want to get dressed.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2022, the group has 7,950 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
