1 he made the heavens and the earth, 2 he said let there be light 3 the waters and the lands, 4 the sun and the moon, 5-6 the creatures of the sea and earth and the birds, 7 rest after work, timelessly and chaotically lost track, kneaded a bit of clay, breathed soul in its nostrils, made a garden in heaven, made him sleep, took out a rib of clay and made him a woman, here the things went wrong, the one who worked before was not a good craftsman, she wriggled like the snake, her eyes were like the stars, she wore the sun on her lips, the moon went blood-red, am I the eighth wonder of the world, you adam?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2022, the group has 7,950 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
