For him, it was her. He'd already been staring at the magazine for two hours. 16 pages. It had writing, but he wasn't interested. He could read. At 13, he knew what he was doing. He had another year to go before he became a newsletter writer, so he could afford it. Every now and then he'd look up at her. She didn't notice him. The magazine began to move in the direction of his movements. The pencil gave birth to a gorgeous portrait on the last page of Terra - The 7̶ 8 Wonders of the World. Where his mother was now painted.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2022, the group has 7,950 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
