For 13 years I loved her as only in Marquez you read. And no, sir, she didn't loved me back. She didn't even know I was still coming. Ok, maybe she somehow knew of my existence, but never in those 13 years let her anyone notice. Ok, it would also have been awkward for her to even move a finger, but I didn't mind. That's not why I'm breaking up with her. I loved her with all my innocent being, but it was time to move on. I have to accept that she is dead and that going to her grave isn't good for me. Is it?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2022, the group has 7,950 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
