On Romanian eBay. Other people find houses, I, a lover. Hye honey? made my Alen Delon his entry. And he wheedled, and he bedazzled me. My ravishing, frisky-hearted man, crazy about my angelic smile from the profile picture. I was swept off my feet. I accepted his invitation to go out for a coffee. Nothing over 20 lei, so that he has enough for the tram. My zealous Don Juan was older than Tutankhamun, had only one tooth left in his mouth and lenses like the bottom of a pickle jar. We parted ways under the moonlight. Ravel was singing. He cried for me. I, for my anguish.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2022, the group has 7,950 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
