She repeated in her head all the lines: thank you for everything, you were so good to me, we cannot see each other again. She asked him to come precisely to the room they first met each other. The wind whistled against the windows as if to the rhythm of the song from Titanic. Tananaa-nanana, Jack, come back. She was Rose, the beautiful, he was Di Caprio. Suddenly, a jarring voice yelled in her ear: you munter, the client's waiting. Why are you standing here with your eyes closed and grinning at that towellike a grotty bint? Leonardo's here, the butcher, and you know he doesn't like waiting.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In February 2022, the group has 7,950 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
