You should have seen those freshly retired teen girls. They were surfing like there's no tomorrow and dancing like maniacs. Then I was close to be eaten by an anaconda; I fell in the waterfall, I rowed through whales and petted the elephants, I built the house in the forest, I rode white horses, I howled at the Moon with the wolves, I hunted ghosts and tornadoes, I climbed the mountains bare feet, I slipped across the dunes and I swam under the ice. Thanks to the Unemployed Robots Revolution and planetary retirement at 25 years. Otherwise I would have kept working until I turned 65, Jesus, and I would have only dreamt.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2022, the group has 8,050 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
