I sin with the thought. I'm masturbating. I've been having sex since I was 15. I only pray when I need something and then God doesn't indulge me. If I can get money out of my friend's wallet, don't hesitate. I'm a jerk, so I don't leave the house without makeup. I come here once a year to confess just to feel better. I do not want to change, nor am I going to stop sinning. I know you have to forgive me, Father. Okay, okay, said the priest in a whisper, now can you tell me what you're doing well?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2022, the group has 8,050 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
