You penetrate me and then you put on your rigid button-up shirt. I am rigid too, but with an f. I've been your deadline for too many times, but you left me out and I got used to it. Your life perception bumps against the corner of your office cubicle. It's useless to write you affectionate words, it's useless to love you. I've got intoxicated with your perfume, but I leave to find freedom, mountains and woods, music and a traditional blouse to wear on the seashore. I've got my books and a bracelet. I loved you, but I won't stay in this romantic trio. You've chosen your job.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2022, the group has 8,050 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
