I got what I deserved, for sexual harassment. I entered the good lady's home; she was alone. Oh, what a bum and what pecs. Down, boy; are you out of your mind? I'll tell yours and if mine gets wind of it, we're done for. She was at the stove, she kept dodging me, and I was Casanova all over. At one point, she smacked me with a frying pan straight across the kisser, with a force to make even Halep jealous. Covered in blood, I shoot into the street and run into Mine. What happened to you, good fellow? I look around and the pasture gives me an idea: One-Eyed Rânză's mare threw me off the saddle, damned restless horse.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In March 2022, the group has 8,050 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
