Even a flock is easier to tame. The other day I was the wolf on the Wall Street, a corporate predator, greedy for gain and a life of plenty. I was juggling money with a click of the mouse and I wanted to lure you in with yachts and cerulean coast mansions. Then, as the lovers' Jean Valjean, guilty of a single crime, I imprisoned myself into your world. But you were still unmovable. And, when I was about to become Houdini, I was out of webs and you got the better of me with a pendulum: I can't remember at all what I did last night.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2022, the group has 8,175 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
