Come on in, I hope nobody saw you, said the old man. Look at what I've got here, the rarities: Snow White, And Then There Were None, Uncle Tom's Cabin, 1948, The Catcher in the Rye, Alice In Wonderland, Animal Farm, Fahrenheit 451, Lord of the Flies. And I've got more. Go on, choose. You can't find them anywhere else, they're all banned. I'll also give you a gift, Alladin's lamp. He took it out from under the counter, rubbed it gently and poof, Harap Alb, surrounded by a blue smoke, sprang out of it shouting: we like Fakebook.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2022, the group has 8,175 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
