Niculina, what do I do? Sfoig's head is getting swollen, what do I do? Do you think Safta put a spell on him? We should take him to the Fălcoianu's, to Rădina to enchant him and break the spell. She got Zăvălâș rid of his backpain so easily, with just a snap of her fingers. Ouch, ouch, Sfoiag would moan. Sandu, stop whining like a bitch, Granny Rada will get you rid of the spell, said Rădina. Then, to Grigorina: I can't do anything about it, because he's got a swollen tooth, but I'm going to send you to my cousin Fălcoianu, since he's opened one of those antique medique shops at Bălcești.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2022, the group has 8,175 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
