Actually, it is an autobiography. When I was born the whole country was celebrating with parades, songs, and flowers. I was born on the National Day. I have congenital depression; I started crying the moment I was born. I lived 30 years in Communism. Then another 30 years in Capitalism. I think this is the definition of being balanced, I am 60 years old, and I am nowhere. We live in a non-stop tragedy embarrassing ourselves. In case I die I will let you all my worries. Anyway, they were all yours. If you see my beloved one you will recognize her because of the way she walks, she was always running away from me.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In April 2022, the group has 8,175 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
