Good morning, I'll answer tonight, was the phrase she used to log onto Facebook every day, accompanied by a selfie. Fragile, with auburn hair and a willowy body, she had tens of thousands of fans who replied: morning; good morning; you look lovely, off to work again. Some wrote that she had a dream house, praised the embroidered curtains, the soft carpet, the expensive armchairs. Others asked her out on dates. After posting, she'd lock up the hotel room, hand the dress, mask and key to the matron and head for the musty studio where she lived.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2022, the group has 8,350 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
