I open the door and He greets me with an explosion of whiteness and swag. He resembles this light that forces you to have your sunglasses (designer ones) at hand. Otherwise, you have a good chance of enriching your freckles collection. Since I can't find mine, and his arrival is actually a surprise, I look at him with one eye closed and don't understand why he hums like that while he's proudly pointing his forehead towards the sun. Boss, what do you wear so early in the morning? The scent of spring, replies The flowering tree and shakes its petals.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2022, the group has 8,350 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
