With an uncertain white tank top and a fresh sauce stain, Gelu is dozing off on the couch. Veta is washing the dishes. Gelu, dear, would you like some wine? Shut up, bitch. The Etno dedications is starting. The woman sat down next to Gelu and offered him a mug. It's the good kind, from the godfather. Gelu smiled askew and made some room for her. Take that he headscarf off. It reeks. She grinned. He downed the whole mug. So good. Veta put her hand on his thigh. She regards her wistfully. I want more. She placed her other hand on his soiled tank top and quickly kissed him. He blushed. Stop watching movies, bitch. I want more wine.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2022, the group has 8,350 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
