The city slowly turns down its dogs, only a Salvation here and there is flickering between hope and abandonment. He dials the code and pushed the door. She gets down on the shone steps in spiral and sees the revolver and the suitcase with money on the table in the white light. It smells damp and repulsive and from behind the matte glass, greedy glances are licking her salty skin - for a million dollars, she has 1 out of 6 chances. She spins the cylinder and, with it, the carousel of thoughts. If it weren't for her. She drops the gun and runs. Now she knows. She's one among those who shoot stars. And they can love.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In May 2022, the group has 8,350 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
