The windows are twinkling white and yellow one after the other in the neighbourhood, curious about a new perfect day, watching out for any skipping step of a smitten awake person, the florist in the corner of the street throws a bucket of water, glueing the translucid sky to the sole of the shoes and the upside-down life gushes green to the trees, a mosquito hugged by the windshield is staring at the commuters of number 41 opening the curtains to the walls of tram, a student is erasing the message I'm missing you already and a bloomed lilac that steals some glances shakes off its fragrance: I have no words, you blind people.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2022, the group has 8,500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
