You asshole. Where were you all morning? The man said nothing, smiling. You're laughing, huh. Mum told me that you started staring after women and coming home with lipstick marks on your lips. Who is it, that young neighbour of ours? I heard you asking her where she got that tinsel-covered dress from. Or it might be that stupid bitch from the 3rd floor, who's making money during the night. Waitress my ass. Or that young single mother with 3 kids? You only got me here as decoration. You never touch me. All day you're out fishing with Gelu and come home with no fish. You never have enough of it. The man grinned, thinking about Gelu. You're right.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In June 2022, the group has 8,500 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
