Listen to me carefully, Prâslea (i.e. the youngest child of a couple - note of LiterNet), for I have been your wise counsellor until now, and your father's faithful comrade in battle: take the right way, said the enchanted horse when they reached the fork in the road. For to the left is the land ruled by dragons, the land ruled by the mother of dragons, the land of the Termagant that feeds on man's flesh, the land rules by mad wicked fairies that will steal your sight if you look at them, the land of living and deceitful swamps from which no one has ever escaped, the land ruled by the glabrous man and all the evils. And on the right, asked Prince Charming. I wouldn't know, replied the horse.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In July 2022, the group has 8,750 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes every few days. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
