It was a night, actually. I had a date with Tanța at the bedroom department, one hour before it would close. We chose a matrimonial bed, the kind with long legs and a bedspread that would reach the floor. When the department was empty, we got under the bed. We got out after the light went off and we got on the next level. I won't tell you what we made all night. All I say is that the bed is cool. I take it, but how the hell will I but it in my goddamn attic, the isoprene I sleep on barely fits between the wardrobe and the stove.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
