The fluttering of the night bird brought the whisper of the corn in waves among the cobs of the better variety of corn that were preparing their grain for picking, and she thought that you can't leave anyone under these stars that fall from the sky, that it would have been a dream if it would not have slipped under her skirts gathered at the waist, and under her ribs the earthstirred by the heat of yesterday would not have gurgled when she still hoped that he would see her differently than she appeared, disheveled and overripe, run away from home to - find her time which had avoided her like luck.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
