I took off my clothes and covered myself with dirt then I shouted: find me. He put his ear to the field and asked me where I was. He couldn't see me. The old lady had told him that at the end of the range there was a gate to me. He searched for it all night, but he did not find it. He could hear me, but he couldn't see me anymore. We lived so close to each other, but to feel, we could only feel the mark left in us by our love. Then he began to cry, and I laughed, but the dew touched us both at the same time, and as if, as if.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
