At three in the morning, the mind has the air of a deserted subway station where the ghosts of lost trains still haunt, jerky emotions flicker in my veins, like a broken neon on the left platform, it depends how you get on or off; I could have become a writer, like this I would have taken death by its first name;your scythe got rusty, Geta, no, me in your bones, we'd tease but no, I wouldn't love her like that; however, we would go hand in hand for missed datingsknowing that, in the end, from the trip without a ticket, we will give birth to at least one book together.

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
