That's it, I've had enough. You've gone too far. When we met, I told you that I had her and that I wouldn't leave her. You said you didn't mind, that you actually liked her: we had threesomes on the beach. Then you started making a fuss: why was I spending so much time with her, why was I touching her rear in front of you, why did I go fishing with her without you? Of course I went, because you wanted to go to your folks in that godforsaken village that doesn't even have roads. And now you want me to sell her at the market? What is she, a cow? She's a car, for God's sake!

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
