for the most beautiful of earthlings. I call it Ghost because it's just a shadow that haunts my mind and plays hide and seek with my neurons. Do you know what it's like to miss someone you've never seen and never touched? To wake up in the middle of the night with your dreams smothered by mad pathos? Do you know what it's like to scratch the walls with your fingernails because you can't get it out of your head? And if this fire that burns me from the inside until it drains me of all strength is not love, then what is?

Real Fiction is a collective project started in 2013 by Florin Piersic Jr. The concept of Real Fiction continued to exist as a Facebook group, after a volume of stories was published at Humanitas Publishing House. (In August 2022, the group has 9,000 members.) The authors write ultra-short stories, with the texts limited to 500 characters (in Romanian, so the length of the English translation might be a little different) - a flash-fiction exercise on a topic that changes almost daily. The group's coordinators are Florin Piersic Jr., Gabriel Molnar, Răzvan Penescu, and Luchian Abel. (Drawing by Adrian T. Roman)
